스포츠인문학, 어디로 가야 하나
이 글은 체육학내에서 홀대를 받고 있는 체육사와 체육철학을 포함하는 스포츠인문학의 위기감을 체감한 연구자가 체육학에서 스포츠인문학의 위기 를 극복할 수 있는 방법을 찾아 본 것이다. 지금까지 국내 체육학연구에서 스포츠인문학의 다양한 모습과 연구결과에 대하여 수집하여 분석하고 검토 한 후에 스포츠인문학의 방향을 찾아보았다. 그 방향은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국스포츠인문학회의 창립이 필요하다는 것이다. 둘째, 체육학과 교수채용 을 할 때도 ‘스포츠인문학 전공’이라는 영역으로 통일하는 방안이다. 셋째, 학술지 명칭도 ‘스포츠인문학연구’로 명명하는 것이다. 이러한 세 가지 방향 이 한국스포츠인문학의 가야할 길이라고 할 수 있다. 그 동안 우리는 체육학 내에서 상대적으로 작은 학회를 형성하고 있었기에 목소리를 내지 못했다. 이제는 거대학회로의 변화를 통해서 우리 목소리를 드러내면서 힘을 키워야 할 것이다. 이와 같은 구조적인 모습의 변화만으로 한국스포츠인문학의 위기 를 극복할 수는 없을 것이다. 적어도 스포츠인문학자들이 자기성찰을 통하여 열린 마음으로 어떻게 하면 스포츠인문학을 발전시킬 수 있는가 하는 고민 이 필요하다. 체육사와 체육철학 전공자들이 위기를 극복하기 위해서는 통합 이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 지금까지 가지고 있었던 기득권을 내려놓고 체 육사와 체육철학 전공자들이 상호 협력하여 그 동안 소외받아온 현실을 직 시하고 희망적인 내일을 위한 공생의 길로 방향전환을 해야 할 것이다.
Sports Humanities, Where Shall We Go?
This article looks at the direction of sports humanities. After examined position and the role of sport humanities in physical education discipline, We suggested the direction of the sport humanities. First, the founding society of Korea Sports Humanities. In the meantime, Korean Historical Society for physical education, Sport, Dance and Korean Philosophical Society for Sport & Dance is a small society. They did not role in KAHPERD(Korean Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance). Therefore, changes are needed in large Society. Second, even when employing professors, “sports humanities majors’ is the area of the unified approach. At least the natural and social sciences and physical education department of sport humanities faculty ratio shall be established properly. Third, the journal name is ‘Sports Humanities Research’. This are said to be the direction of sports humanities. Structural changes alone can not solve all the problems. Sports humanities scholars with an open mind, at least what you can do to develop the sport humanities need to reflect on. We put down the vested, Do not try to get something different. With cooperation between sport philosophy majors and physical education history majors, We seek to the path of coexistence. Those seeking academic development of the sport humanities would be helpful.
